Weekend Treasure Hunting!

Hi all! I hope each of you had a blessed and wonderful Easter weekend...:) I sure did! Not only did I have a blessed Easter Sunday, but I had a fun day out thrifting on Saturday with my hubby and his mom. She loves to go to to flea markets and yard sales as much as me! We started out the day at a couple good yard sales and then went to a flea market we haven't visited before. I found quite a few treasures......big surprise, I know! ;)

OK....here we go! First up is a beautiful old cookbook/story of Margaret Rudkin, founder of Pepperidge Farms. It was published in 1963. I have the book open so you can see the front and back. It is a beautiful cookbook and in excellent condition to be 50 years old! It was $2!

I found 2 sets of 6 vintage cloth napkins for $3 and $4 a set. They are in excellent condition so I feel they were worth the investment. I can't wait to start setting my table all pretty!

I also bought this pretty vintage embroidered table runner for $4. Again...perfect condition!

This little side table looks pretty rough and needs a lot of TLC, but for $1 I couldn't pass it up! I can't wait to redo it...:)

This sweet little vintage sugar bowl was just $1 I think! The handle is a rosebud...:)

This set of 6 salad/dessert plates was just $4! They are in excellent condition and I love the floral design on them!

This pretty metal planter is joining my other metal planters in storage until I build my new porch. I plan to paint them all to match and fill them with flowers! It is pretty good size and very heavy metal.....it was $3.

Next up are 2 apothecary jars for $1 each and a pretty crystal candle holder thingy that will become a pedestal for a pretty china plate! It was also $1!

I got these 3 pieces of milk glass for $0.50, $1, & $2.

This cute bowl is apple green inside and the outside says breakfast club. I loved it....$1.50.
The pretty little etched globe coffee cup is to add to my daughters collection....$0.50!

Here's a sweet little cherry bowl for my ETSY shop!

This little church kept calling my name....I am planning to paint it white! It was $1!

I love this large metal container with wooden handles. It was $2.....the aqua blue on it is perfect! The wooden tray underneath....$0.50! It will definitely get a makeover...:)

Another little cutie to add to my growing white pitcher collection. This one's a creamer, but it will look so cute with the others! It was only $0.25.

These beautiful frosted glass sundae cups were brand new in the box from Williams Sonoma marked $29.99. I gave $5 for them...:) They will look so cute in a tablescape on my vintage ice cream table!

I had to have this beautiful hand painted plate for $3!

And my find of the day was this beauty below! When I spotted this letter holder, I fell in love! I was afraid to ask how much it was....I thought it would be out of my price range, but when the guy said $2....I snatched it up! When I got home, I immediately looked it up (it had excellent markings on the bottom) and discovered it was made by the Bradley and Hubbard company in the early 1900's and is pretty valuable! I found one just like it listed on ebay for $285.00! I saw another one that sold through an auction house for $150.00. SCORE! Now.....I can't decide whether or not to keep it or sell it!

I'll leave you with a couple pictures of one of my former thrifty finds containing the dessert I made for one of our Easter parties! A strawberry shortcake trifle.....YUM! I wish there was some left over!

And a beautiful, picked from the yard bouquet on my Aunt Loretta's table! So pretty!

I'm linking with this lovely lady.....Kathe at

Until next time......
