A New Look & Just a Few Treasures!

If you have visited me before, then you will probably notice the new look!
I am happy with the way it turned out....what do you think?

Yesterday, hubby and I got up early and met his mom to go to the flea market. It was bitter cold, so we didn't stay long, but I did manage to find a few treasures. I know I have been buying a LOT of treasures lately, but we are planning lots of remodeling in the near future and I have plans for all my treasures! My spare room is going to have a garden feel....lots of white, floral, and birds. I am planning a small library and my hundreds of books will need some pretties on display around them. My dining room, master bath, master bedroom, and kitchen will all be getting remodeled too, along with building a new front porch! We have big plans, but it's us doing all the work....and on a budget, so it won't happen quickly! I am proud that we are able to do it ourselves though....we are learning as we go. Believe it or not, it has been such a good thing for our marriage...:) It has given us common dreams and interests and we love to dream and plan what to do next...:)

Here are yesterday's treasures!
First up is a beautiful white covered dish by Homer Laughlin. According to the code on the back it was produced in 1930...:) No chips or cracks, just a little crazing and yellowing on the inside, but I love it and it was just $3! I have been trying to collect some white pieces to display together in my dining room.

I was thrilled to find this little Taylor Smith Taylor Boutonniere creamer! I have actually been looking for some of these pieces since I first saw them! I love the beautiful aqua blue inside...:) I will definitely be on the lookout for more of this pattern. I couldn't believe it was only $1 and is in pristine condition!

I also got this beautiful aqua blue piece. I believe it is handmade because the bottom doesn't have a mark, it just has To John handwritten on it. I love the color and have been trying to add aqua to my color scheme. This will eventually sit in my library, but for now, I think it will find a home in my living room. It was $3.

I couldn't believe this pair of metal candle holders was only $1! They are so pretty and large, about 12 inches high. They will paint beautifully! I am not sure yet if I am going to use them for candle holders or take the candle part off and use them as detail on a piece of furniture. So many options with these little beauties...:)

All of the above items came from the same booth....all great deals! I found a couple other treasures at other booths as well! The sweet little Imperial candlewick salt and pepper shakers below were too pretty to pass up for $3. The little, elderly lady at this booth had tons of stuff! Lots of it was still in boxes. I really want to go back when it isn't so cold and search for more treasures.

I found this little treasure on a table full of junk! I love apothecary jars...:) This one had a Brach's foil candy label on it. Who knew candy used to come in such pretty containers! I wish I had taken a picture of it with the label on it.....but I always get in a hurry to clean my treasures, and I totally forgot! Here is one like it on ETSY. It is pretty good sized too....about 8 inches tall! It was full of seashells (those will come in handy on my summer buffet vignette) and was only $1!

Group picture...lol!

My last find is just a cute little storage box in the prettiest shade of pink! I bought it to store things in my craft room. It is new and was only $2.99 from Bealls Outlet.

I am glad you stopped by and I do hope you'll come back to visit!
As always.....
