3 Thrifty Treasures & a Little Family Fun!

Seems like forever since I've posted, but I've had a busy week! It was a 4-day work week for me and today starts my Spring Break! I am grateful for that, but sometimes I wonder why the week before a break is so insanely busy! My son is a high school senior and all his scholarship applications were due yesterday, so of course he started filling them out the night before! And yesterday was parent/teacher conference night after school, so I was rushing to get all my grades in before it started. Fortunately I got it done and only had a few parents show up and now I have ten glorious days off!
One of the fun things I did this week was go to a college baseball game! I've been to a few Major League games, but this was my first college game. You might remember me saying my daughter, Miranda lives in Tallahassee and is a Florida State graduate. Well, FSU came to Gainesville (about an hour from home) to play the University of Florida Gators and since Miranda and her boyfriend John drove down to the game, we decided to meet them. My niece, Shelby is a UF student and she went to the game with us. Poor thing had to sit in a sea of Seminoles, but she was a trooper and supported her team all the way! FSU won 4-1!
It was a fun night...:)

The evening sky was so pretty!

I also found some awesome treasures at my favorite local consignment shop! First is this amazing mirror. If you follow me, you know I have a thing for mirrors....like I can't walk away from such a beauty as this....especially when it was only $4! I'm in love! It will most likely live in my spare bedroom....if I ever get it done!

Here's a close up of the detail at the top....isn't it gorgeous?

I also found another decanter to add to my collection. It was $5, but I saw the same one online for $35, so I think I got a great deal! This one is absolutely beautiful cut crystal with beautiful etched roses.

The lid is solid crystal and very heavy....so pretty!

The last thing I found was this wire rack for $1. I'm not exactly sat I will use it for yet, but I will figure it out. I believe it held books in a library. Any ideas, leave me a comment and let me know!

I am absolutely thrilled to be up to 19 followers! Thank you all so much! As soon as I reach 25, I am having a 25 follower giveaway....just for those 25 folks! I will use a number generator to pick a number between 1 and 25 to select the winner! I am going to Tallahassee to spend the weekend with my daughter and will be picking up some things for the giveaway, so be sure to follow me if you want a chance to win! I can't wait!!! See you when I return from Tally!

Until then.....

  1. Your finds are beautiful. I love the mirror along with the decanter. The wire rack? I would fill with favourite white bound books to set off the mirror. Enjoy your week. Chelx
