Hello friends.,,,hope you are doing well. I wanted to pop in and give an update on what has been happening over the last week. Nothing exciting at all but most of our life is spent enjoying ordinary days so I'll just share a few of those. Isn't this dogwood branch from Mama's tree so pretty? I love having some type of flower on the shelf above my kitchen sink.
Last Friday after work I had a chiropractor appointment so the hubby took off work early to ride with me. After my appointment, we went to Chuy's (pronounced chewies), one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I'm sure I have mentioned my love of Mexican food here before. This place has a dip called creamy jalapeno which is so delicious. I do not like really spicy things and this isn't at all. It is so delicious, especially with the thin and crispy tortilla chips they bring out fresh and hot. I had a steak taco salad for my entree...everything was so tasty. After we ate, we went to watch my nephew Jacob play lacrosse. He is an outstanding player and I really enjoy watching him!
Saturday morning, I decided to go work in my classroom for a bit. I got sick Thursday and had to leave work early and it's a day I normally stay late to get things done. I had to leave right after work Friday for my chiropractor appointment so I got behind on a few things. I like to go up on the weekend a 3-4 times per year to help catch up on lots of little things. So, Rooster rode with me. He enjoyed exploring in my classroom and smelling everything. His nose was working overtime...LOL!
He enjoyed the car ride as well. :)
I came home and dropped him off and then picked up Mama and Nancy, my sister. We went to a yard sale up the road and a thrift store as well. I only bought a couple things to wear. I have been trying to buy a few clothing items here and there to replace things that are now too big. I am down a size and it won't be long before I am down another size! That makes me happy.
After we got home, I potted some plants I bought last week. I am loving my yellow rain boot planter. Isn't it adorable? It was around $15 at Wal Mart.
I have had this adorable planter packed away in the shed waiting until I had a porch to put it on. Isn't it sweet? I found a few other things in the shed I had packed up that I hope to decorate with soon. I will share when I get them hung.
Sunday, my friends and I went to lunch and to see The Shack. We all read the book after it came out years ago and could not wait to see the movie. It did not disappoint. We loved it!
I cherish these ladies....this is me and my friend Jeana. She's the amazing baker!
And my sister, Nancy and our friend Heather. We have such a good time together, whether we are doing something fun and exciting or just sitting around and chatting at one of our homes. I am blessed to have each of them in my life.
And speaking of blessed...I am blessed by each of you ladies as well. Thank you for stopping by and leaving me sweet comments. I have so enjoyed getting to know many of you over the years.
This week has been pretty uneventful....just work and workout. I did finish the third book in a trilogy I have been reading. It was one of those deals where I couldn't wait to finish, but at the same time didn't want it to end. I think when I finish this post, I will go pick a new book off my shelf to start tonight. Tomorrow is Friday and my last day before spring break begins! To say I am ready for the break would be an understatement....lol! I love my kinders dearly, but they are exhausting and this break is much needed. I hope your week has been good and your weekend is even better.
Until next time.....
I love Chuy's creamy jalapeƱo dip! It is so good. I always ask for my own bowl of it, lol. I was going to tell you after your last post, you are looking thinner! Way to go! I've been exercising too. Slowly making progress. It's good to hear from you even if it's just mundane life. I need to sit down and do a post too. I don't know where this week went! Have a wonderful break!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Miss Skinny! I can tell from the close up photo of you that you've lost weight. So inspiring. I'm pretty sure I 'found' the weight you 'lost', but such is the way I roll when away :/.
ReplyDeleteI want to see The Shack soon. Read the book and loved it!
(Drop me a line. I have a question for you).

Life is good my friend. Enjoy your spring break. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThat meal looks so good, my mouth is watering now! Congratulations on the great excuse to buy new clothes, that's awesome!! You are blessed to have those good friends and sister. I wish I had some good friends like that. I have one but she lives in a different town and doesn't like yard sales or thrift shops like I do and I am an only child so no built in friends either :o(
ReplyDeleteTania
We don't have a Chuy's near me (Philadelphia) but it sounds delicious!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you keep losing weight you are going to disappear! Congratulations on your success, though.
ReplyDeleteI love that little rain boot planter. I saw it on IG too.
Enjoy your spring break, Vicky. I can't wait to see what you do next week.
Nice to have a day with your girlfriends . . . and I must say, "Looking Good, keep up the great work" :) I too love having flowers in my kitchen window. After all we spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Love your planters . . the Walmart boots and the little birds, they look vintage, are they? Here's wishing you a lovely weekend, with time to spend out on your porch. Enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteAw, I love Rooster! See you tomorrow! :)

Congrats to the weight loss, you are looking good (not that you looked bad to begin with) ;). I keep telling myself I need to go out and walk, but on the bright side I have stairs that I go up and down several times a day!
Enjoy your weekend Vicky!
