My 2016 Word for the Year

Just popping in to share my 2016 Word for the Year. I have been deliberating over a couple different choices for a week or so but I kept going back to this one. I took that as a sign that it is supposed to be my word for this year.
Here it is.....

I truly want to be more intentional in all things this year. Little things like deciding what to blog about, what to cook for dinner, or what book to read but big things too, like working on paying off debt, deciding what home projects need to be completed first and so on. I am not a person who goes through life without thinking things through, but I don't always totally think things through before acting. I want to do that more this year. And, I'm hoping that by choosing intentional for my word, I will be more deliberate when making choices and decisions.

Do you choose a word to live by each year? If so, have you chosen a word for this year? Please share if you have! I'll be back soon for part 3 of my trip to Prague. Thanks so much for all the kind comments. I appreciate you all so much! Each comment brings a smile to my face! I am trying to keep up with replies, but this week has been busy with work and the bathroom remodel. It is turning out so pretty! I can't wait to finish it and share. Have a wonderful week.

Until next time.....

  1. I love your word for the year! I usually don't pick a word but "intentional" is a noble thing to be!

  2. I like the word intentional too. I haven't picked a word but if I did it would probably be 3 words, just do it! A lot of times I over think things and it takes forever... like blog posts, put things off until later... like exercise or drinking water, or dreading things which effects my mood... like housework. Look at me, doing a blog post in your comment section LOL!!!

  3. I'm looking forward to your bathroom reveal and more trip pictures!
"Intentional" is a great word. I chose "prepare" as I need to start the downsizing process plus finishing up the projects at the farm that need to get done plus theists house refresh. Oh my. Ok, one bite at a time. I guess I'm going to be intentional too!

  4. Hi Vicky,
Intentional is a great word and a great thing to strive for!
I didn't pick a word this year...every year I pick three things that I strive to be better at...a bit kinder...a bit more thankful and to worry less!
I can't wait to see more of your photos!! :)

  13. That is a great word for the year. I could certainly be more intentional myself. I've been mulling over several words for a few weeks now but I haven't chosen yet. We'll see if I'm able to.

  14. You chose a good word. I don't choose a word, but I do make resolutions and really am trying to keep them this year. Oh, reno or rehab, whatever you want to call it is difficult. You are an inspiration with all the work you and hubby have done this year. Looking forward to your next Prague segment. :)

  16. What a great choice of words. Do things because you love to, plan things because it uses your time more wisely and don't do things half way - all things can be done with your whole self. I think your 2016 is going to be marvellous. Looking forward to spending it with you!
