Hello! I hope this finds you doing well! I am sharing a few more photos from my trip to Prague. All of these were taken at night of a few shops and Christmas Market booths. This first photo is a charming toy store we walked by. I did not go inside, but it looked like such an enchanting place. Wooden toys and marionettes are very popular there.
Here's a close-up of the carousel. I recorded it going around but still haven't figured out how to share video on here.
Roasting pigs are a fairly common sight around town.
I loved this Christmas Market booth. The booths were all so neat! They did not have doors on them. They had to crawl through the space at the bottom! I saw this little old man do it and a few others as well.
Isn't his booth wonderful?
There were lots of tasty treat booths to be found as well. I didn't actually buy any of them myself, but I did have a bite of this dessert called a Trdelnik. These are a very popular Czech dessert. You can smell them all over!
They coil the dough around this spool. They have cinnamon in them so you can smell them baking.
This is how they bake them...over open coals. So neat! They take them off and cut them into around a 6 inch piece and spread Nutella or chocolate around the inside. You can usually purchase hot wine at the same booth so the combination of smells in unusual but pleasant.
Here's my friend Jeana (she and her daughter Ashley went with me) with her Trdelnik. I had a bite of hers.
Here's one of the huge ornaments on the big tree in the square.
This building was gorgeous! I believe it was a theater.
The Palladium Mall was lit up so pretty!
As was this building.
I took this from inside the tram we rode back to our hotel. I can't imagine driving on the same streets as the trams. I guess you get used to it.
Another night at the Christmas Markets. There are a few different areas set up around the center of the city.
There's Miranda and Ashley waiting for Jeana and I to finish shopping.
There's Jeana (in the center) waiting for her gifts to be personalized. The lady at this booth was so sweet. :)
We had a wonderful time window shopping some nights and actually shopping on others. So many things to see. I'll share the things I bought soon!
For now though, I need to get tot bed. It's back to work after a wonderful 3-day weekend. We are 95% finished with the bathroom remodel and I will share it soon. I LOVE how it turned out. I have also been rearranging and purging in my craft room.....again! I don't know why, but I love playing in there. :) I'll share what I have been up to in there soon as well. I have more blog post ideas than time lately. I hope you have a wonderful week. And, as always, thanks for stopping by!
Until next time.....
Ah, what a delightful place, Vicky. I am thoroughly enjoying your photos and I truly hope there are more :) I had to chuckle about the booths not having entrances and the workers having to crawl under the table - quite unique, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting that your bathroom remodel is almost done! Can't wait to see it. Have a good week, dear one. Hugs!
I so remember those pastries whose name I had a hard time to pronounce... But they tasted delicious!

ReplyDeleteYay, for the bathroom being almost completed! I can't wait to see it. :o) I'm in a slump with blogging...too much to do and not enough time to sit at the computer for long. I do have a cool piece of furniture I need to tackle though. Just need to figure out what I want to do with it. Hope your week goes well.
hugs,
Cecilia

ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week,

Hi Vicky,
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos!!
The market there looks very similar to the Christkindl Market that is in Downton Chicago that we got to visit for the first time before Christmas...it is supposed to be fashioned after the markets there.
I am not too sure about the pig...but all of the other window displays were gorgeous! ;)
So amazing that you got to go on such an adventure and with your daughter and sister!!
Hugs, Kimberley
