Happy 4th of July...on the 5th!

Hello everyone! I trust all my fellow American friends had a delightful 4th of July! Mine was really nice. The hubby and I went to see this movie.....

It was a very good and perfect to see on the 4th of July! After the movie, we had a nice lunch and did a little grocery shopping. After that, we came home, grilled hot dogs, and met some family and friends to have a picnic and watch the fireworks. It was a wonderful day from start to finish.

I never got a chance to show you my Independence Day tablescape so I thought I would share it today. It wasn't anything fancy in fact, it was very simple. I really like the way it turned out though. I didn't purchase anything for this table, although I did look for some small red, blue, or Americana plates with no success. Anywho, let's have a look.

I used my Little Red Racer wagon for the centerpiece. So cute! I added some vellum bunting from my scrapbook stash. I just taped it on. It made a cute addition I think!

I did not have any small plates to go with a red, white, and blue theme, so I just didn't use any. I folded my napkins accordion style and then folded them in half and tied them with gingham ribbon. I think they look like bunting too.

I printed off a small 4th of July Subway print to add to the table.

And I used some other pieces of vellum scrapbook decor to create this piece and added it to a wooden skewer. I just popped it into one of my milk glass vases.

Like I said, this was a very simple table. My vintage teddy sits in the red wagon and is holding a flag I kept from a Memorial Day cookout I attended.

Here's the whole table. I am currently trying to decide to set the table with next. I am about to go do that now...as soon as I hit publish! I'll share the new tablescape sometime soon.

I hope you are all having a lovely and restful Sunday. It is storming here and I am enjoying listening to the low rumbling of thunder in the distance and the rain hitting my tin roof. Perfect day to piddle around the house. Have a wonderful week!

Until next time.....

  1. Cute, very cute! I love to decorate but no one sees it but me....so I don't. I do have a little red wagon like that....I was going to put it in my junque garden but I don't think I will now. Thanks for sharing, sounds like an enjoyable, relaxing day.

  3. Hello! I hope you had a wonderful 4th! I love your table setting...so festive and like you said simple. I put out some red, white and blue flowers in my pots outside and of course our American flag! We had a nice day at home. We cut some trees down, had a nice BBQ and then the boys put on a beautiful display of fireworks. It was wonderful! I'm a bit tired today, so resting when I can... I hope you have a great week! Hugs, Amy

  5. I love how creative you are. A cute table does not mean lots of money, just some imagination!!

  6. The wagon as a centerpiece with the Teddy is my favorite. We huddled on the sofa with two very frightened dogs until 2am. You would never know that fireworks are not allowed in the city. I am not being a spoilsport, but after 9pm they should stop. Other than my soap box tirade, we have a wonderful fourth.

  7. Looks great Vicky! I had to give my little cuddler dog a tranquilizer at about 10:30... he was shaking :o( The other one isn't fazed in the least! lol!

  8. So cute Vicky! You really have a talent for using what you have and making everything special.

I hadn't heard of that movie that you saw yesterday. Glad you enjoyed it and that you had a nice day. Ours was a bit of a washout due to rain, but today was soooooo much better.
