Mental Health Friday Finds!

Hello and happy Monday everyone....:)
I started writing this post Friday evening and never got to finsih it...until now, so pretend it's Friday when you read it...lol!
It has been a wonderful day! I took the day off work ...just because! I really needed a mental health day. I am off Monday for Veteran's Day and I thought, why not take Friday too and have a glorious 4-day weekend...:) So, I did!
The hubs took off too and we went on a thrifting day out with my mama and daddy. We had such a fun time! I found lots of treasures....linens, books, dishes, storage, the list goes on. I know you are surprised! LOL...:)
Here...let me show you!

I found this adorable little shelf with the $12.99 TJ Maxx sticker still on it for $3.  It has a plate groove so I can display something fun on it in my craft room. I'm thinking apothecary jars and vintage plates! I already cleaned it up and have a spot picked out for it. I love the scalloped border with the holes...so cute!

I had to have this sweet little rose bowl.

I also had to bring two of these plates home. I wish there had been 4 but no such luck. I'm sure I will run across a couple more in the future! They will go perfectly with the table runner Bev sent me...:)

I also bought four of these fun retro plates...love the grey and aqua blue trim.

There were several small plates and a couple other pieces that I wish I had bought since they were half price. I researched them and could sell them for a good bit more that I would have paid for them.
 Oh well!

I also found some nice linens. These pretty napkins were still new with tags...$3.

This set of four place mats are a pretty shade of blue and remind me of chambray...$1.

I really love these red, woven place mats. They will also look nice with the strawberry plates I just shared in the photo above. They were $2 I think!

And...how about this adorable strawberry pail to use in the tablescape...$2.

This little lamb flew right off the shelf into my cart! Isn't he adorable. He still had a Pier 1 sticker on him...:) I had to have him for just $1. He will be so sweet at Easter time!

Love this USA marked ironstone platter. It is small but I just love it! I think it was $2.

Loved this candle with the typography all over...:)

This sifter was a nice find for my future ETSY store.

Excuse the water spots all over it....I washed it and it looks almost new!

Another vintage pillow case for my future quilt!

I have absolutely no idea what this star is supposed to be. Looks almost like a brander but it isn't sturdy enough. Any ideas?

It was only $1 so of course it too had to come home with me.

Another sweet little white pitcher (creamer) to add to my ever growing collection.

A like new game for my kinders...$2!

And, 2 like new hardcover books for $0.40 each!

This little metal basket will most likely live on the windowsill in my guest room. We are in the middle of a remodel on it and I can't wait to share!

A gigantic hoop for $2 will also live in the new guest room. I am thinking about putting a piece of one of my vintage pillow cases in it...:) Now...to paint or not to paint....that is the question!

Not sure what these thingies are called. I have one just like it but smaller that I bought at a yard sale a few years ago and love it! This one is huge and was just $1!

An ugly but sturdy basket that has already received a new paint job! It will most likely contain magazines.

I bought this for my scarf collection. I was going to hang it in my closet but now I'm thinking it might look cool hanging on a wall in my bedroom. I have some really pretty scarves! Also....again, I can't decide whether or not to paint it.

Thanks so much to everyone who signed up for the ornament exchange...I had 25 participants counting myself which I think is awesome since Christmas is on the 25th! E-mails were sent out and I can't wait to see what everyone receives from their partner. Enjoy making new friends!

Until next time...

  1. A teacher playing hookey to go thrifting - well, just shut my mouth. You really did get bargains. We all will be looking for a lot of new tablescapes. Is the Foley sifter a full-sized one or half-sized? I think the star on a stick might be a rug beater.

  7. Wow Vicky! You had a great day didn't you? I love it all... the little lamb and the ironstone dish are my favorites! And I'm so happy to see that you are starting to talk about your "future Etsy shop"! When you start to talk about it that means it will eventually become a reality! I'm exicted, be sure to send me a link the minute you open!!

  8. Now that is A LOT of LOOT! You hit the jackpot with some of those deals. Although I suspect the biggest treasure of the day was spending time with your family ;)
