Fun Finds!

Ok...last post about my cruise! Today I am sharing my fun finds from the trip! I found several goodies both on the ship and in Nassau. First up is a bag I got for free (for purchasing a coupon book...so technically not free!) from a store called Del Sol. All the products in Del Sol change color in the sun....so cool! This is what the bag looks like inside.....

...and when you walk out in the sun with it, this is what appears! Pretty cool huh? I bought my daughter a t-shirt from there as well.

I also bought several nail polishes for small gifts for some of my family as well as one for myself! Check it out. Here is mine inside.....

...and here it is outside in the sun. I just love it!

I also bought a couple Christmas ornaments. I collect ornaments everywhere I go on vacation or from any shows I attend, basically any significant place or event in life that I want to reminisce about each year when I put up the Christmas tree. Here is the one I got in Nassau.

And the one I got on the ship...:)

The ship has a few stores on board called the Fun Shops. You can buy things at a discounted rate on the water because they are tax and duty free. If you're in the market for an expensive watch or jewelry, you can get some fantastic prices! My budget is not that big, but I did find the most gorgeous crystal beaded necklaces 2 for $30. I got one for myself and gave the other one to my sister. Mine is the prettiest shade of teal and reminds me of the water.

It is so sparkly with an iridescent coating on the beads.

This sweet little pendant was another freebie I got for purchasing the coupon book. The coupon book would have been a great deal for anyone shopping for high dollar items in Nassau....not so much for me. Oh well, I do really like this pendant!

I bought my daughter, Miranda a pretty rose gold bracelet to match her watch I bought her for Christmas year before last. They had Gold By the Inch that is plated, but guaranteed not to turn. It is anywhere from $1 to $6-7 per inch. This was $3 per inch I believe. Isn't it pretty?

I bought this cute little woven bag in one of the fun shops where everything is $10. I needed a smaller bag to carry around during the day on the ship.

I also bought this lanyard to keep my Sail and Sign card in. The card is how you purchase everything while on board. You can assign a credit card to it or deposit cash into your account. It makes things so easy! I will use the lanyard at school as well to hold my id!

I got this pretty scarf in the $10 shop....I LOVE scarves and this one was too pretty to pass up.

I love the detailing on the ends and corners.

Here is the Towel Animal book I bought. So cute and it shows how to fold 40 different animals. I think there are more than 40 they do though!

Here is the piggy. I am showing this one just for my daughter...she's a pig lover! Isn't it cute Miranda?

And last is a photo of the Bahamian penny & nickel. I love the starfish & pineapple as well as the fish and flamingo on the back side of the coin.

Well my friends, if you stuck it out through all my cruise posts, thank you so much! I appreciate you reading and I hope you felt like you were there with me at times. If you haven't had a chance to read any of the others, you can read them here, here, here, & here! Tomorrow I am hoping to share a few thrifty finds I found at my favorite consignment shop today. I am trying to cut back on my thrift store shopping as my home is beginning to look like a thrift store...LOL! Have a blessed Monday my friends...:)
Until next time.....

  1. Vicky the shopping is always fun on a vacation! Love the things that change color in the sun...what a cute bag! So glad you had a good time. I collect ornaments on my vacations and other important trips/events and hang them on my tree also. What a fun reminder every year of the things I've done and the places I've been!

  4. What fun souvenirs you got! I love that bag, it would be kind of cool to frame it with just the black words showing, kind of reminds me of a grain sack or something! And the color changing nail polish is really cool! I went on a cruise years ago and was so impressed with the towel folding, it's so fun that you found a book on how to do it yourself! :o)

Thanks so much for commenting on my reclaimed fence board wall, I really love it too. When I walk in there now it feels so soothing with all the creamy white walls and sun bleached boards.
